Amber might just hold the record for the longest road to Triangle Smart Divorce — literally. She made her way from Jefferson County, West Virginia, to Seattle, and finally to Raleigh… and yes, she drove the whole way. That journey says a lot about her: determined, steady, and completely committed once she sets her mind to something. Amber will tell you herself, “I’m a paralegal. It’s what I do, it’s all I want to do.” She means it. Family law is where she’s built her career and where she feels most at home. While she started out working on a mix of legal matters early in her career, she quickly realized that family law gave her something no other area did, the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. Amber thrives on the challenges and personal connections that come with family law. She never finds it boring. Every case is different, and every client has their own story. When it comes to sports, Amber stays loyal to her roots and her journey: she cheers for the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Seattle Seahawks, and, when the rivalry rolls around, UNC — but only when they’re playing Duke. Outside the office, Amber and her husband stay busy with their two girls, which means “off-time” is a rare luxury. When the chance does come around, the family loves heading to the beach or back to the mountains of West Virginia — where Amber’s journey first began.
