There is a lot more to marketing a divorce law firm than convincing people to call one. For Sarah Roakes, a big part of the job is making sure people have better information before they ever need to.

With a background in digital marketing, project management, and Client outreach, Sarah works alongside TSD’s Marketing Director on just about every way Triangle Smart Divorce shows up in the world. She helps manage our social media, coordinates and films videos, supports events and referral relationships, works on marketing campaigns, and helps turn the things our Legal Team knows into information that is actually useful to the people who need it.

Because most people don’t spend their free time learning how divorce works.

By the time someone contacts a family law firm, they may already have spent weeks or months wondering what happens to their house, their finances, their children, or simply what they are supposed to do first. Sarah helps us create content that answers some of those questions before a potential Client ever sits down with an attorney.

Her job doesn’t stop once someone becomes a Client, either.

Our Marketing Team spends a lot of time thinking about the entire Client experience, including what we can learn from the people who have actually been through it. That means Clients may hear from Sarah asking for feedback about their experience so we can continue improving what we do.

They may also hear from her for considerably more fun reasons.

Sarah helps with Client gifts, firm news, special events, and some of the little surprises we like to provide along the way. It is all part of making sure our relationship with Clients feels like more than a series of legal documents and appointments.

And Sarah is particularly well suited to that part of the job because she genuinely likes people. Whether she’s talking with a Client, working with one of our referral partners, helping someone feel comfortable in front of a camera, or representing TSD at an event, Sarah has a knack for making connections and putting people at ease.

Outside the office, Sarah is a devoted fan of cinema, a voracious reader of romance and thrillers, and keeps up with enough pop culture to be a useful resource for the rest of us.

She is also a huge UNC fan, which means she has chosen one of the more heavily populated sides of the ongoing TSD college rivalry. Whether UNC basketball counts as another pop-culture interest or an entirely separate category depends largely on how the season is going.

Which, when you work in marketing, is probably all professional development anyway.

Sarah helps TSD tell people who we are. More importantly, she helps us listen to the people we’re telling.
