Diane Allen began her legal career at the front desk of a small family law firm, where she was often the first person Clients met. 

It turned out she was particularly good at making people feel a little more at ease during a time when very little about their lives felt easy. 

Before long, Diane moved from the front desk into a paralegal role, preparing legal documents and working closely with Clients through every stage of their family law matters, including court and mediation. 

Today, Diane brings that experience to her work as a Paralegal at Triangle Smart Divorce, where she helps our attorneys and Clients navigate divorce, custody, support, property, and other family law matters. She helps prepare documents, keeps cases organized and moving, communicates with Clients, and makes sure they understand what is happening and what comes next. 

That last part matters to Diane. 

As a child of divorce herself, she understands that a family law case is not simply a collection of documents, deadlines, and court dates. There are real people living through it, often while trying to parent, work, make financial decisions, and figure out what their family is going to look like on the other side. 

Diane listens. She explains. And when a Client is worried about what happens next, she understands that sometimes answering the question and keeping them informed can make a difficult process feel a little more manageable. Clients have noticed, describing Diane as professional and caring and specifically recognizing the way she keeps them informed and helps ease their concerns. 

Diane is also a graduate of East Carolina University, putting her firmly on the ECU side of TSD’s increasingly complicated college allegiance map. 

She and her husband, Jacob, have two young children, which means free time is more theoretical than guaranteed. When she finds some, Diane enjoys hot yoga, true crime documentaries, Law & Order: SVU, and what she readily admits is trash TV. 

After spending her workdays dealing with actual family law problems, we suppose she has earned the right to watch some fictional ones.
