From the beginning, Katie Kober knew one thing for sure: she didn’t want to work at a massive law firm where clients were just case numbers. She wanted to work directly with people, to see the difference she was making in real time, and to guide them through one of the hardest transitions of their lives with honesty and compassion.

Katie started her career at a firm that handled both criminal and family law. She loved the mix of fast-paced problem-solving, the variety of issues, and the opportunity to help clients find their footing again. When she later moved to Alabama and joined a firm that practiced family law exclusively, she knew she had found the right fit, and she hasn’t looked back since.

Katie loves that family law keeps her thinking. It crosses into so many other areas — business, finance, real estate — that every case feels unique and multidimensional. She enjoys figuring out how all the moving parts connect and finding smart, practical solutions that move her clients forward.

Over the years, she’s handled just about every kind of family law case, from complex property and financial matters to business valuations and high-net-worth estates. She has a sharp eye for detail and knows how to make sense of the numbers, but what really stands out is how she keeps clients grounded and informed throughout the process. She also has extensive experience with military divorces and understands the extra layers of complexity that come with them, both legal and personal.

Katie joined Triangle Smart Divorce because of the Team environment and the support that’s built into everything we do. She believes collaboration brings out the best results for both the Team and our clients.

Outside the office, Katie spends most of her time at cheerleading, football, and lacrosse games for her three kids, who are each two years apart. When she does happen to get a quiet moment, she’s usually catching up on true crime, watching all things Bravo (especially the Housewives), or listening to One Direction and Morgan Wallen. As for sports, her family is all-in on Alabama football, which makes her a Crimson Tide fan by marriage.
